Ramakrishna Vivekananda Vedanta Samiti Hoshangabad (M.P)(Regd.) Subdue the senses, do acts of charity, be compassionate, practice these three virtues — Brihadaranyaka Upanishad

Background

The spiritual vibrations around Narmada River needs no elaboration. From time immemorial the banks of the Holy Narmada has been a favorite place of pilgrimage for devotees and spiritual seekers alike. From sages of ancient times such as Narada, Sanat Kumar, Kashyap, Durvasha, Nachiketa to modern day saints like Gurugovind Singh, Totapuri, Swami Shivananda & many others found spiritual fulfillment here.  Though the bank of the Narmada has such a rich spiritual heritage, the socio economic condition of the people in the villages is quite pathetic compared to the rest of India. It may be recalled that Swami Vivekananda wrote more than 100 years back that there was much field for work in the Central Provinces. Ironically, the situation remains almost the same even today. To serve the people of this region, the Ramakrishna Vivekananda Vedanta Samiti, Hoshangabad (M.P.) was established on 1st March 2013.
